Here is a lovely little TriumphHerald 1200 Saloon, presented in Olive green with contrasting Cactus greenstripe. Tax exempt and includes 11 months MOT. GWK781D, was bought new on the 8th July 1966 by a Mr Cecil Robins. He paid the grand sum of £564 5s 7p for the car, including a 17.5% staff discount (saving him a whopping £92 18s 6p) due to him being an employee of the Standard-Triumph motor corporation. Unbeknown to Cecil at the time however, this car would stay with him for the next 31 years until his death in the late nineties. The reason why I know this is because Cecil saved every receipt, bill and invoice for the car, including the cars original buff logbook and bill of sale. After Cecil's death, the car was passed to Cecil's nephew, who immediately dry stored it until 2012, when he unfortunately lost the use of the garage in which it resided. This is when a well known Triumph enthusiast and club member was contacted asking if he'd be interested in buying his uncle’s old car. A deal was done and GWK went home to its new (2nd) owner. The 2 nd owner started to carry out restoration work on her, but due to poor health was forced to sell her on. This is where I come into the story (3rd Owner).
