1966 World Cup, 1 st June 1966 First day cover, Wembley Postmark! Here I have a 1966 world cup first day cover post marked WEMBLEY, MIDDX, 1 JUNE 1966, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. The stamps were issued to commemorate the Football World Cup hosted by England and issued during the tournament but prior to the final. The First Day Cover is in good used condition but has marks to the back of the envelope due to the fact it had gone through the Royal Mails’ postage system in 1966 but has been kept in an acid free sleeve ever since. The three stamps, with phosphor bands, are in good condition with a crisp postmark as described. A lovely piece of world cup football history and memorabilia and rare with the Wembley postmark.
