Tennessee’s junior senator from 1967 until 1971 was Howard Baker (who served in the Senate until 1985), making this the first plate he was issued. Known as the “Great Conciliator” for brokering many compromises, Baker served as Senate majority and minority leader and later as President George Bush’s chief of staff and, under President George W. Bush, ambassador to Japan. This plate was part of my first place award-winning display at the 2018 ALPCA convention.Always happy to combine shipping!
