Omega wristwatches always seem to be popular when listed on ebay, I’m sure this will be no exception. This is a 1968 gentleman's Omega Geneve Seamaster watch with a steel coloured case. If Omega strove after the war to be one of the ‘big’ players in the wristwatch industry, by this age they had certainly made it. Perhaps the most impressive of all its features, is the caliber 601 movement finished entirely in gilt with 17 jewels and superb double positional adjustments for supreme accuracy. This movement is housed in a case that measures some 33 mm in diameter excluding the lugs and original signed winding crown. The case condition is good and it is of course fully signed 'Omega Watch Co' on its inner with a reference of 135.011. The outer of the case back carries the famous Seamaster logo engraving. The dial is finished in silver and it clearly reads 'Omega Geneve' in black print alongside applied steel hour batons, hands and logo. The entire watch exhibits that delightful minimalist style that Omega often achieve quite brilliantly and remains in excellent condition. The caliber 601 movement is signed ‘OMEGA WATCH CO.’ and has a serial number of 26642714, indicative of the watch being produced in 1968. It runs well and keeps excellent time. The watch comes on a quality nearly new dark brown leather strap with steel coloured buckle read more
