The Carousel Anniversary Clock is from my own personal collection. It comes with the original certificate of authenticity, which certifies that it is an original work of art by William Dentzel, III, crafted in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Gustav Dentzel's birth. It also certifies that this clock is crafted in fine porcelain and contains a fine quartz movement by renowned clockmakers, Franz Hermle and Sohn. The clock will be packaged in it's original box.Following is quoted text from the Certificate of Authenticity."In 1864, Gustav Dentzel arrived in Philadelphia w he opened a cabinet shop. Back in Germany, Gustav's father, Michael Dentzel, had constructed carousels, and Gustav, inspired by his father's success, attempted carousel construction in America. In 1867, he formed the G.A. Dentzel Company, becoming one of the pioneers of the carousel industry in America.Dentzel's success was due in large part to the talented carvers whom he employed. Daniel Carl Muller was noted for his finely detailed carvings and today, Muller's carved carousel horses are among the most admired of all. Another craftsman in the Dentzel studio was Salvatore Cernigliaro, who first applied elaborate carvings of flowers, bells and bows on his whimsical figures. Cernigliaro is also noted for adding rabbits, cats and bears to the Dentzel carousel read more
