Original 1970’s version of the Mamod SR1 Live Steam Engine Steamroller Toy. This original, Live Steam Engine Road Roller Toy measures approx. 7" tall to the top of its original smokestack, 8 3/4" long and 5 1/4" wide across the rear wheels. The Toy is made of iron, brass and aluminum and features a horizontal boiler. The Traction Engine / Steamroller appears to be in running condition although it is missing the whistle and has a replacement burner. The Toy Steam Engine offered here is what we believe to be the 1970’s version of the Mamod SR1 Horizontal, Live Steam Engine Steamroller which was first produced in 1961. The Steamroller is still produced to this day by Mamod but but the example offered here is believed to be ca1975. The Steamroller is in very good condition and appears to be working although we have not fired it up. The Steamroller lacks the scuttle plate on the rear and has a replacement, solid fuel tin burner. The Toy also lacks the whistle, pressure release lever. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the form and condition of this Mamod SR1 Live Steam Toy.
