1970s SUPERFRIENDS PRODUCTION ANIMATION CEL 7 CHAR OBG This unbelievable original production cel is of ALL of the main characters from the 1970s Superfriends series produced by Hanna Barbera. The cel features the great Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman, Robin and both of the Wonder Twins (Zan & Jayna). Superfriends cels are very scarece, and setups with all of these main characters are just about Impossible! You will never see one again. I have been collecting for over 20 years, and in all that time, I have never come across another cel nearly as good, and very few with more than 2 characters! This beauty has been on my wall for 15 years, and has been the treasure in my collection!! This piece has beautiful lines and is in fantastic condition with no line wear or paint loss. Some of what makes this setup is so rare, is that Hanna Barbera threw away their entire warehouse stash when they went out of business. T are just a precious few left that were taken home by the animators who worked on the series. In addition, the reason you never see so many characters together is that during animation, only one or two characters actually moves at a time, so that the amount of cels created for a group sequence can be severely limited. The cels for the characters that are not using are merely reused. In this super rare setup, the cels of ALL characters from the sequence are actually together. WOW!!!!! What makes this piece truly special though, is that it is on its original matching hand painted background! . These are extremely rare and valuable, and really bring the production setup to life. I have been collecting for over 20 years, and this is by far the best one that i have come across! The cel has been beautifully matted and framed!! This is as good as it gets for the Superfriends series! I paid over $2100 for this setup, and that was 15 years ago!
