1970s Irish Whiskey Vending Machine This vending machine was designed to dispense whiskey (1/3 gill) measure on a coin operated basis. Intended for after hour usage in the Irish pub trade. There are two windows / whiskey compartments. Instruction panel below coin slot reads as follows: "INSERT KEY ABOVE & TURN CLOCKWISE CHECK THAT OPTIC IS FULL & THE SOLD OUT LIGHT IS NOT ILLUMINATED PLACE GLASS ON REST UNDER DRINK REQUIRED INSERT CORRECT COINS THIS MACHINE SUPPLIES 1/3 GILL MEASURES" Information at glass rest reads as follows: "NOT FOR USE BY PERSONS UNDER AGE 18. THIS MACHINE VENDS 1/3 GILL MEASURES." Coin Slot reads: "3 x 10p" Dimensions: 435mm wide 420mm deep 680mm high-240v mains powered. - Complete with set of keys. - Takes old Irish 10p coins. The machine came to us in its original box and was never used. It has a light oak finish and comes complete with keys. The exterior is in great condition as can be seen from photos however being 44 years old the internal mechanics will need someone with experience in vending machines to get up and running if this is desired. We have priced the piece to reflect this. The machine accepts old Irish 10p coins which are cheap and easy to buy on eBay. It is the silver coin with the Irish Salmon on it.
