Leisure suits, Gremlin cars, pet rocks, orange baseballs, Kung Fu movies and Disco music all did their parts to help define the weird and wonderful pop culture of the '70s. Put your finger on the pulse of the "Me Decade" with this 1972 Girves Brown Derby Cleveland Indians poster lot of (5). These obscure 22x26 regional Ohio restaurant chain giveaways took a walk on the wild side of design for baseball collectibles. Photos of Indians players are tinted in pastel shades of blue, pink or yellow and are bordered with psychedelic flair around the perimeter, with the Girves logo located at bottom center. Positive dating is derived by the group of featured players, who only teamed together for Cleveland in 1972. These players are: Gaylord Perry (VG), Graig Nettles (EX), Chris Chambliss (VG-EX), Ray Fosse (VG) and Alex Johnson (VG-EX). While we're this far over the rainbow, we'll put forth the notion that these oddball posters are extremely rare survivors, as there is no evidence of any other existing examples to be found.
