Here we have for sale my 1972 Carmichael Commando 6 X 4 Rapid Intervention Vehicle. I am the third owner, and purchased the appliance in February 1997. It was originally supplied to Guernsey Fire Brigade at St.Peter Port as Engine Number 4 It has a 500 gpm coventry climax front mounted pump driven off the front crankshaft via a separate gearbox. This is fed from a mid mounted 200 gallon tank, and can then be delivered via the rear mounted hose reel, or the two front mounted delivery nozzles. Comes with hoses and branches, as well as four lengths of suction and the ladder, and a considerable amount of spares and equipment It has four brand new Goodyear Wrangler AT tyres (all under 1000 miles), two other goodyear wrangler tyres , and spare part worn . The engine was fully overhauled just over ten thousand miles ago, and it had a new radiator and clutch fitted at that time. The vehicle was substantially rebuilt when I purchased it, to include:- New discs, pads, springs, shock absorbers, inner and outer front wings, two new complete doors, new inner and outer sills, along with any other structural work required, and then a full professional respray.
