1977 Queen's Silver Jubilee five pound coin size Commemorative Crown Coin in its original Protective Presentation Case Issued to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne in 1952 as determined by the Royal Proclamation on 17th December 1976. The designs, which are by Arnold Machin OBE, RA,show the Queen on horseback as Commander-in-Chief of the Grenadier Guards at the Changing of the Guard , and on the reverse, the Ampulla and Annointing Spoon that were used in the Coronation ceremony.These are believed to to date respectively to the 14th and 12th centuriesand are probably the oldest items in the Royal Regalia to have remained in continual use.
