UP FOR SALE WITH NO RESERVE: An original one sheet poster for the original German release of the classic 1970s horror film 'DAWN OF THE DEAD' - George Romero's groundbreaking zombie film. It was called 'ZOMBIE' when released in Germany in 1979. This is, in my opinion, the RAREST 'Dawn' / 'Zombie' poster ever made. My grasp of the German language is not the best, but this is the type from the poster in case you can't read it in the photo: "Wenn in der Holle Kein Platz mehr ist, Kommen die Toten auf die Erde / Ein Alptraum, der Wirklichkeit werden Konnte... " At the bottom it reads that it was distributed by "Constantin Film". I have been told that this poster is quite rare since it's obviously going for a psychedelic look, and is not at all like any other DAWN OF THE DEAD poster ever made - I hear that when these were printed, once the distributors and filmmakers got a look at them they wanted them destroyed, and it was done. I understand only a few survived, and this one is only the second one I have ever seen for sale. Now, it can be yours, if you are the high bidder! Read on for more details... NOTES ON CONDITION: The poster measures 23 & 3/8" inches wide by 33" inches long, and is folded, as it was issued. It has a few pinholes at each corner (see 2nd pic), slight wrinkling at the edges (see 2nd pic) and a handful of pinholes in the body (not noticeable when displayed), some very slight wrinkles from storage, some white on the folds and it was folded just a bit off, so it's not a perfect square when folded, but close. Makes no difference in it's condition. Some slight seperation at the middle folds, as is typical of a poster of this age. T is some slight soiling on the back of the poster (see 3rd pic) but it does not show through the front at all. Please note that t are white spots in the black border, but those are in the printing and on purpose. Please excuse the can on the bottom right of the poster in the first picture, it's just t to hold down the poster (took pics outise in the better light). While having regrets, I wish I had thought to take a picture of this when I had it framed, it looks so beautiful and near perfect when framed out nicely. This is guaranteed original from the first German release of the original 1978 ('78 for USA release, released in 1979 in West German) DAWN OF THE DEAD / ZOMBIE.
