1980 Moscow Olympics silver 10 rouble coin - 39 mm diameter, 3.3 mm thick (a bit larger & fatter than a U.S. silver dollar), 33.3 grams total weight - 90% silver. The Moscow Olympic silver coins (5 rouble & 10 rouble) were issued over a 4 year period starting in 1977. A total of 14 silver 5 rouble and 14 silver 10 rouble coins were minted. This coin - part of the Geographic series - was issued in 1977 & shows the Moscow Olympic symbol superimposed on a map of the USSR on the front/obverse of the coin. On the back/reverse is the coin denomination & the USSR emblem. Mirror finish - in good/very good condition - some small scratches & surface imperfections both sides as the dark contrast photos show. Shipped in soft plastic coin flip.Additional note: Silver/silvertone mirror proof coins have a shiny silver reflective background. The photos taken of mirror proof coins may appear to have a blackish or grayish-black background because of the camera angle chosen to highlight the design & any surface imperfections. The coin background is silver - not black or gray.
