The mixte bicycle is considered a universal frame in Europe, and the fact that Rivendell is now making a mixte bike, along with many other makers of high-end bikes speak to their wonderful performance characteristics. The twin lateral tubes made for a very strong frame that today is expensive to make. This nice Raleigh mixte (a Gran Sport, I believe, although the graphics are weak and I am not sure) is from the 1980's, a 22 inch frame (center to top) and will fit a wide range of riders, women and men. The bike features a Raleigh alloy double plateau crank, ten speeds with a wide ranging rear cluster in the rear, Suntour shifters, Dia-Compe brakes, Araya 27 X 1 and 1/4 alloy rims (the bike will need new tires), safety levers, alloy pedals with room for riding with sneakers, centerpull brakes, and a gel seat. The chain is brand new, as are most of the cables. The condition of this bike is only fair (the pictures should tell the story), with some surface rust, magic marker initials in the paint...but the red and white paint is still very attractive, and if you are willing to spend a little time detailing this bike, you can have a fine bicycle at a bargain price.
