Here's a STRONG, RAW, ORIGINAL BU... Doubled Die Reverse Coin , found on a BU, Gem 1981-D, Jefferson Nickel .....this Doubled Die is a highly sought variety and only the second 1981-D, DDR Jefferson Nickel Variety discovered thus far, and listed in the official CONECA files.This Doubled Die Reverse, CONECA ~~ 1981-D, DDR 1-R-II-C+VI, Brilliant BU Jefferson Nickel comes with a STRONG SPREAD on E PLURIBUS...and light notching on the 'U' of UNITED, easily discerned with your 10X or 16X loupe. The close-up photo of this DDR was taken by me on my INTEL microscope.The coin's condition is SOLID GEM BU, with no flaws and strong, clear steps. You may wish to have it graded/encapsulated! It's no DOG! ...with complete original luster. A Die Marker to look for on this Stage 'A' specimen, is a 'Die Scratch' that runs southeast thru the UN of UNITED. It's there and evident.The Scan depicts the coin I am offering. As you can see, the doubling is quite visible on the areas mentioned. To fully appreciate this Double Die, you need a good 10X or 16X loupe. (actually, I've been utilizing a 17X loupe for the past 40 years, and that magnification serves me well) Also, a customer recently informed me that more die doubling is also evident on the left side of the Monticello building.
