c.1982 GULFSTREAM II/ III PACIFIC MINIATURES MODEL GULFSTREAM II / III MODEL BY PACIFIC MINATURES This auction is for an original resin model of a Gulfstream II / III passenger airplane. The model fuselage bottom is marked 'Pacific Minatures' in Commerce, CA. Not being an aviation expert I cannot determine if this is a retrofitted G II or an actual G - III with the design approved winglets. I can say that compared to modern winglets which are intergrated into the wing design, these appear to be simply 'bolted' on and thus the case for a modifed G -II seems more likely to my untrained eye. The model appears to be 1/72 scale based on the dimensions. The resin constructed plane weighs approximately 3.5 lbs. The model dimensions are as follows: Wingspan: 18.25 inches Height (base to tail tip): 9.25 inches Length: (nose to tail): 20.75 inches This plane exhibits the corporate colors of the Copley Press (blue and white) and was likely a corporate jet owned (or originally bought) by Jim Copley for Copley Press business travel. The plane is on a wooden base which holds the plane in place by way of two metal posts which insert into the model's fuselage.
