Extra Large White Porcelain von Goethe Medal. Undated, but probably made in 1982 on the 150th anniversary of the death of Wolfgang von Goethe. This piece measures almost 4" in diameter and comes with an exceptionally high relief. Made of pure white porcelain by the Meissen porcelain factory, whose blue crossed swords hallmark appears on the reverse. Made for the State Museum in the East German side of Berlin. A small depression on the top of the reverse (as made) allows for hanging this piece on a wall. Perfect condition.GUARANTEED GENUINE!
