Description: You are bidding on a 1983 100 Balboa Gold Proof coin from Panama (KM#95 in the Standard Catalog of World Coins (mintage =1,308) It celebrates Pre-columbian art - Cocle Indians bird of gold This coin contains 7.13 grams of 50% gold (0.1139 troy ounces). This is a great coin, in the original sealed Franklin Mint "First day of minting" cachet (minted on April 14,1983). The coin has no filming or spotting on either side, and the cachet is in great shape, with no additional marks on it. The cachet comes in the original blue Franklin Mint folder and slipcover, with the original descriptive page and brochure. (the brochure does have one inkmark on it - see photos) The 2015 Krause catalog of world coins (42nd edition) lists this coin with a value of $315.
