This is a 1984 bronze Los Angeles XXIII Olympaid medal or token that was given to a journalist who was reporting the Olympaid to the public. He said that all of the journalists got one. I assume that others working in some fashion at the Olympaid were also given this bronze medal or token of the games, but I don't know that for a fact. The medal measures 2 5/16" in diameter and 3/16" thick. The velvet type box that the medal is in measures 6 1/4" by 4 1/4". The outside box measures just a little larger to hold the velvet covered box. There are a few small "spots" on the back of the medal or token, and in between the letters YMP and one a little larger by the letter D in the word Olympaid, as shown in one of the pictures below. Both boxes are in excellent condition. Overall the medal or token is in very nice condition. There is some small wording above the word Olympaid that says 1980/1984 L.A.O.O.C. THE POSTAGE COST WILL BE THE ACTUAL POSTAGE CHARGED BY THE POST OFFICE. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE POSTAGE COST OF $7.00 THAT IS NOTED IN THE AUCTION IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE POSTAGE COST RANGE. THE CLOSER YOU LIVE TO SARASOTA, FL THE LOWER THE POSTAGE WILL BE. THE LOWEST COST IS $5.15, IF YOU LIVE CLOSE TO SARASOTA, FL, TO THE MAXIMUM COST OF $8.75 FOR THE WESTERNMOST STATES.
