1993 50th Anniversary of World War II proof 2 coin set - silver dollar & half. Both of the coins in this set are dated 1991 - 1995 and commemorate the 50th Anniversary of America's involvement in World War II. The coins were released in 1993.The obverse of the 90% silver proof dollar shows an American soldier on the beach at Normandy and the reverse depicts the shoulder insignia of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force, with a quotation from Dwight D. Eisenhower. The obverse of the clad half-dollar depicts the faces of three members of the armed services superimposed upon the "V for Victory" symbol and on the reverse portrays a Pacific Island battle scene. The silver dollar bears the W mint mark (West Point) and the half-dollar has a P mint mark (Philidelphia). Both coins are in their original capsules and a jewelry-style case from the Mint.
