This is arare and unique item of Newcastle United history This is theprized No. 9 shirt Les Ferdinand actually wore in the 1995-96 season at Newcastle United and it is signed by the Newcastle United squad. Ferdinand gracefully gave up the No. 9 shirt to Alan Shearer the following season and took on the No.10 so this shirt is unique. There are 20 player signatures on the shirt. Names I can make out are Les Ferdinand, Kevin Keegan, Terry McDermott, Robbie Elliott, Steve Howey, Lee Clark, Peter Beardsly, Warren Barton, Steve Harper, Arthur Cox, Chris McNemamy, Phillipe Albert, Faustino Asprilla, John Beresford & Shaka Hislop . I shall leave some investigatory work of the remaining five names for the winning bidder. The shirt was presented to me as a prize in 1996 by Les Ferdinand’s good friend and ex-team mate Martin Allen (QPR) at Martin Allen’s Soccer School. (Picture 3 above shows me being presented the shirt by Martin Allen on stage and Picture 4 shows me after the presentation with coach Kevin Hitchcock, former Chelsea goalkeeper). This match worn shirt is the genuine article! Les Ferdinand’s spell on Tyneside was arguably Ferdinand's most successful club tenure.
