1995 Civil War Battlefield Half Dollar - NGC MS 69 The 1995 Civil War Battlefields Half Dollar was issued for the preservation of battlefields associated with the Civil War. The obverse of the half dollar features a standing drummer boy. The inscriptions on the coin read “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, and the date “1995″. The reverse features a cannon against a battlefield landscape. The reverse contains a central inscription “Enriching our future by preserving the past” and other required inscriptions surrounding, “United States”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and the denomination “Half Dollar”.
