This 1997 United States Botanic Garden Commemorative Proof SILVER Coin was produced to fund the projects and mission of the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C. The coin was made at the Philadelphia mint and bears the “P” mint mark on the reverse side of the coin. Proof Silver Dollar Specifications: Condition is Uncirculated PROOF Philadelphia Weight is 26.73 grams Diameter is 1.500 inches or 38.10 mm Composition is 90% silver and 10% Alloy This commemorative SILVER coin comes protected in a clear acrylic capsule, and nestled in a hinged velveteen presentation case. It is in its original mint packaging which is in excellent condition along with the certificate of authenticity. The 1997 Botanic Gardens Silver Dollar was issued for the National Botanic Garden in Washington, DC. Based on the inscriptions the occasion was for the 165th anniversary, which took place two years prior in 1995. The coin is beautifully lustrous and clear, no problems.
