1998 American Eagle Proof PLATINUM Four - Coin Set These beautiful coins are the 1998 American Eagle Proof Platinum Four - Coin Set that is comprised of four denominations as specified below. The coins have never been removed from the sealed capsules and they have always been secured in the original packaging since delivery from the United States Mint. These coins feature John Mercanti’s “Portrait of Liberty” on the obverse and the Bald Eagle flying over the New England coastal landscape with a lighthouse on the reverse. Only a small fraction of these coins were put into the 4 Coin Proof Sets with the $50 coin being the rarest (lowest mintage as confirmed by the accompanying documentation): 1 Ounce Platinum $100.00 Coin 1/2 Ounce Platinum $50.00 Coin 1/4 Ounce Platinum $25.00 Coin 1/10 Ounce Platinum $10.00 Coin COA (Signed Certificate of Authenticity) U.S. Mint black velvet presentation case, with accompanying box Coins have a "W" mint mark, signifying the West Point Mint Original U.S. Mint announcement letter and accompanying flyer both of which are rare.
