Hello dear friends, offering for sale ~ a very rare antique 18-19c. apothecary pharmacy turned treen boxwood Pill Silverer on pedestal. This silverer has a great patina and wonderful spherical shape. Pill silverers were used throughout the 18th and to the mid 19th centuries to coat pills with silver or gold. The pill was coated with a liquid, placed inside the globe filled with silver or gold leaf, and shaken and spun until coated. Condition: very good for its age; tiny hairline on lid as shown on photos. Please, be sure to view all photos carefully as they are included as part of the item description.
