For auction is a top quality 19c rosewood and brass inlaid ladies travelling box c1880. This really is stunning quality, all brass is intact, nothing missing, the beautiful original red velvet and gilt leather interior is as bright and vibrant as the day it was made. Lift out tray and silver hallmarked tops, one or two tops to the bottles are nibbled and one stopper top is broken, spring loaded secret drawer which is accessed by pulling out the brass pin on right side. Lock and hinges are original, key is missing but any locksmith can make one. Behaind the ruffled velvet lid is a leather secret pannel which is revealled by pressing a catch at the top of the lid and then pushing pannel to the left to pull out the mirror. Measures12inches[30cms] wide x 7 ins[18cms] high x 9 ins[23cms] deep. As you can see by the photo's the colour and grain of the rosewood is simply superb and in amazing condition, no splits or scratches, this is a beautiful and usable box, no reserve.
