center> <> 19C Brown Transfer English Cup, Saucer Chrysanthemum George Jones Aesthetic Victorian English Fine Design Welcome to our royalbert auction and adorable transferware etc store for for a beautiful Late Victorian Aesthetic Design Movement English Daisy looking Chrysanthemum floral, stems, leaves, decorated ornate tea or coffee cup and saucer decorated in dark and medium Bittersweet Chocolate Brown transfer on cream ironstone background in the Chrysanthemum pattern ! Six stems of blooming mums and buds seem to "grow" from cup bottom exterior, while a group of 3 more shows at interior. Saucer design includes one large and two small arrangements of the great flowers in Oriental Japanese influenced asymmetry, known as japonesque "spilling" way! Signed in print on saucer & cup under sides as pictured, by George Jones and Sons, famous Staffordshire Aesthetic Movement Potters, with design registry dating to 1885 and manufacture before 1891, when England would have appeared. Measurements: Cup 3" Tall, 4.25" wide including .75" of handle, Saucer 6.25" diameter, with rim elevated 1" from table in Victorian cooling, sipping manner.Condition: Gently used original antique! Free of cracks, chips, discoloration, stain or restoration. Period manufacture did allow over rim and under side potter's marks, little transfer glaze and pottery
