19C Brown Transfer HP Jenny Lind English Serving Bowl Castle People Dog Mountain Scenic Design Charles Meigh & Son Welcome to our royalbert auction and adorable transferware etc store for a large, great Jenny Lind pattern dark, medium and light Chocolate Brown transfer rounded rectangular Antique Scenic Design Cream ironstone body open Serving Bowl! Wide Maze ike Borders contain Grape Vines, Grapes, Leaves and Four colorful Mansion House vignettes, while Bowl Center contains Scenic Castle, People, Parasol Ladies, Military Men, one with Spyglass and a small Dog, all looking at Mountain Lake & Castle! Signed, as pictured by Charles Meigh & Son, an English Potter from 1851 - 1861. This Firm subsequently operated Old Hall Earthenware Ltd, until July 1886. Measurements: 9.25" side to side, 7.25" wide front to back, 1" rim 1.75" above table, 6" x 3.25" base. Condition: Used original English Antique Serving Piece, Very Good, with no cracks, no chips, no stain, discoloration or restoration. Period Less than perfect manufacture did allow potter's marks at bowl interior and over rim, along with tiny pits and "bumps" one sees in ceramics over 100 years old, not noticed when in use. From gentle use over the years, several not distracting very light utensil scratches to bowl center and mild darkened wear to underside from sliding at table. read more
