19th century iron ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) with applied decoration of two pomegranates on a branch, with seeds in one of the fruits showing. Pomegranate stands for a wish for many sons, as numerous as this fruit seeds. Excellent detailing, some gilding, nice patina, liner for the central hole. Height 13/16 inches.
