2 19C RUSSIAN PORCELAIN FIGURES A GIRL & COSSACK AS IS Description I have bought a small collection of antique porcelain from the philanthropist Leon Gildesgame estate of Chappaqua, New York. Most of this was bought at Sotheby's, NY in the 1960. All of it will be sold without reserve. Please see my other listings for the rest of this interesting porcelain. This listing is for two Russian 19th century porcelain figures. One is of a young woman the other is a soldier I believe a Cossack. The soldier stands 6.5" or 16.5 cm high, the young woman stands 5.75" at 12 cm high. The soldier figure is marked on the bottom in under glaze blue, please see photos. This maybe a Gardner porcelain factory mark, but I am not sure. The young lady is unmarked. The condition of the soldier is strictly as is. T are breaks and repairs His green cape has been repaired at both corners at the back. The head has been off and has been glued on, the back of the soldier's cap has a corner missing and his right hand has been badly restored. He has a pistol in his belt and his left hand is placed on the hilt of his sword. The young lady figure is in very good repair with the exception of her right thumb is missing. Both are very well painted, please see photos for more on the look and condition of these two 19th century figures. Shipping anyw in the US via read more
