This auction offers a wonderful nineteenth century MAJOLICA figural poodle dog that is either a match or candle holder (any info appreciated). It was made in France by the SARREGUEMINES factory. The white pup is sitting up holding a top hat in his mouth. He sits on a green "grass" base. This piece measures 5 3/4" high and 3 3/4" across at the base. The bottom has the maker's backstamp and is numbered "2304". There is also an "E" and another mark I can't read. The poodle is in very good estate condition with no chips, cracks or restorations noted. There is expected crazing of the glossy glaze. What a superb addition to your collection!
