Charming Reproduction antique magnifying glass with wooden storage case. The box measures 10 1/4" Long x 5 1/4" Wide x 1 1/2" High Magnifying glass is 9" Long x 4" Wide. With a 5X magnification Nice solid brass frame with a hand turned wooden handle. All wood box with brass inlays and hardware. Magnifying glasses like this were used in the 18th and 19th century due to the poor lighting and eyesight. This piece is made just like the early versions with heavy glass and brass.
