4 PC. CHAMBER SET-BROWN TRANSFERWARE These pieces were produced in the Staffordshire region by Anthony Shaw sometime between 1851 and 1900, the known years of his operation. The pattern is called "KIOTO" and shows the oriental motifs that were so popular in the Victorian era. Fans, apple blossom branches and butterflies decorate the pitcher, mug, toothbrush holder and soapdish. The pitcher, mug and soapdish are marked on the bottom with the pattern name, the manufacturer's name and a registry mark that is so heavily glazed as to be impossible to decipher. The pitcher stands 6 3/4" tall, the toothbrush holder is 5" tall, the mug is 3 3/4" tall and the soapdish stands 1 7/8" tall and 6" long. The pitcher and the mug have beautiful embossed flowers in the body and pretty detail on the handles. The soapdish retains it's original drainer. The toothbrush holder has the only damage and has been repaired...luckily it is in the back and does not show from the front. ( The "hole" that you see at the base of this piece is the hole for drainage. ) Please feel free to ask questions. I prefer Paypal but will also accept money orders and personal checks. Buyers outside the US will please use Paypal only. NJ buyers please add 7% tax or provide tax ID number. Thanks for taking the time to look.
