Up for auction is a mixed maker 19th c. Russian '84' silver flatware set, which weighs a total of 83 Troy ounces! All of the pieces have Russian markings on them, including '84' marks, a number of different maker's marks, date marks, assayer marks, and Moscow & St. Petersburg city marks. The earliest pieces date back to the early 19th c. and the most recent date to the late 19th c. The condition varies from piece to piece, but they could all use a good cleaning. We are selling the set as scrap, but you might find some very valuable gems amongst them. A few of the pieces even have the Imperial cypher mark (double headed eagle). We 100% guarantee the pieces to be Russian in origin and as described. I HAVE RECEIVED A RATHER LARGE NUMBER OF QUESTIONS REGARDING THE SET, MANY OF WHICH REQUIRE THE SAME ANSWERS, SO I AM POSTING THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: T are 24 assorted large spoons (largest, approx. 9" long); 12 assorted small spoons (largest, approx. 6.25" long); 5 assorted forks (largest, approx. 8.5" long); and two knives (largest, approx. 9 1/8" long).
