For sale in this auction is a very fine pewter teapot or coffee pot signed by William Calder of Providence, Rhode Island, and produced there in the second quarter of the nineteenth century. This extremely well-kept antique pewter pot measures eight and one half inches tall by ten inches spout to handle and about four and one half inches across the round bottom panel. It weighs two pounds and two ounces, and its condition is totally undamaged and unbroken. The patina is light, very smooth, and has limited minor darker spots with no pitting. The finial and the handle are pewter and there is minor scratching to the paint on both. The inside is very clean, and this is an overall very nice early and rare nineteenth century pewter pot from very popular pewterer whose wares are increasingly difficult to find. Thank you for visiting my auctions, and good luck to you in all your bidding. bdr [618]
