Well is a real treasure box of late 19th century slide mounters specimens and apparatus. A mahogany box full of specimens in tubes and used pill Boxes.They apparently belonged to a certain Rev. M.B Saunders around 1880-90. I did a quick check on the internet and found he wrote a paper for the Brisol Naturalist Society in 1888, and was probably a member of that society.The pill boxes were all issued in and around Bristol (Avon, England) and one bears his name,which is dated 1887. T are all kinds of wonders in his treasure trove. T are 10 glass phials contaning an assortment of items , I am not at all sure what, I have scanned 5 of the more interesting ones.T are some minerals or crystals ,what seems to be crushed sea shells, and one containing what seems to be a white crab leg or marie animals leg. Cant be sure on any, most are just numbered ,but one bears the identification "Sabina" on it. T are 9 used medicine pill boxes all have which have been re used to store specimens etc. One has a semi dissected spider, another has a kind of honey comb with an interesting notation of were it was collected in October 1897. One contains spare cover slips and another has an assortment of dried sponges.
