My auctions are private purely to protect the buyers 19th Century Flow Blue Jug and Basin - ITEM - Wash Set - Jug and Basin DATE - c1845/50 PATTERN - Canton MAKER / ORIGIN - H J & Bros. - I have not been able to identify this maker SIZES - :- Water Jug is 12 ½ inches to thumb rest on handle and 8 inches across from lip to handle inclusive Wash Bowl is 13 ¼ inches across and 4 ¼ inches deep Both pieces are marked with the pattern and makers Initials I have checked out my pattern books but I cannot find a Canton pattern to match this one Nice early set not often found in the UK- has a few problems please see the Condition section Because of the size and weight of this item shipping / postage will reflect this - I do only charge actual cost and I will check for the best possible price and service available Please note that Parcel2go is mainly used for larger heavier parcels to the USA - packages up to 2 kilograms will be sent via Royal Mail at a lesser cost Condition of Item On the jug t seems to be a problem with the glaze on the handle - the area w the handle goes into the jug on the inside the glaze has cracked and crazed but it is surface and does not go through, at the base of the handle t is crazing in the glaze but again it does not appear to go all the way through - on the foot rim t is a small chip about ½ inch across, a small glaze miss / chip under the lip and I can also feel a glaze crack on the inside and again outside of the rim one side but these do not connect and are in a way heavy crazing - but it was hard to try to photograph the area as it is felt more than seen - this area is small and not as bad as the handle The bowl has a chip on the underside rim which was done when it was made as it is glazed over - t is a small chip on the foot rim and a bruise on the side w it has been touched when the glaze had not dried - again this has happened when it was made Although t are flaws with this set it does display quite well - I think the handle could be restored - reglazed and the chip on the foot of the jug could be done - I have not placed a high price on the items which will give the buyer a chance to pay for restoration if they feel it isneeded PLEASE READ CONDITIONS OF SALE please click If flow blue or mulberry is your passion then think about joining us at the Flow Blue International Collectors Club , for more information email me.
