19th Century Hand Carved Meerschaum & Silver Pipe In Case ~ Risque / Saucy Search Here for sale is a hand carved meerschaum pipe which dates to the latter part of the 19th century, it is a good sized piece measuring 14 cms long. The pipe features a female dressed in her undergarments reclining on her bed, although this isnt really shocking and no nudity is shown this would have been a risque and saucy scene for the era it was made. the pipe has a silver collar, there are no visible marks but many pipes of this era were custom made so its common for the silver collars to be entirely unmarked. the stem is a later replacment and appears to be made from wood, because the stem is a little wider at the mouthpiece than the original would have been the case will not fasten shut (but the case is the original to the pipe). The only damage is to the feet.
