Sailing off the Scottish Coast, 19th Century by Edmund Thornton Crawford (1806-1885) 19th century Scottish School marine oil of a ship sailing off the coast, oil on canvas by Edmund Crawford. Rough seas shipping scene using dark and heavy toned paints. Good quality and condition marine oil. Signed, gilt framed. Crawford spent most of his life between Scotland and the Netherlands painting seascapes, for which he is better known, and landscapes following the example of his Dutch contemporaries.
