19th Century Thailand Siam Porcelian Gambling Token These Siamese Porcelain Gambling Tokens, also called "Pee," originated from 1820 - 1875. They were made in China, then brought to Siam to be used as gambling chips in casinos owned by Chinese. Later they were widely accepted as currency exchange. They commonly have the Chinese characters, and the name of each of the establishment. There were many different shapes, sizes, and varieties issued, commonly made from porcelain. These tokens were later prohibited by King Rama V in 1875 but remained in cirulation into the 20th century.
