an 19th century pennsylvania primitive original early red paint wash slide lid candle box. measures 7 1/2''l x 6 1/4''w x 5 1/4''h in all original untouched condition with original square nail construction. very unique cute bold form and size showing an exquisite early warmly worn surface and character. in excellent slide condition but i will mention all early wood anomolies for the sake of accuracy. insignificant and not seen is one very slight wood sliver missing from slide lid side back which is common with early slide lid candle boxes and on the back top there is an age hairline which is early and does not affect the boxes integrety in any way. otherwise its is in excellent condition with no significant damages nor any repairs.
