Mielatz was born in Germany and was a pupil of the Chicago School of Design as well as Frederic Rondel in New York. He was a member, and the secretary of the New York Etching Club as well as the American Watercolor Society. He was also an instructor at the National Academy of Design. … This original etching is pencil signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner. Depicting a harbor-side city, this original 19 th century etching comes sealed, under glass with a matt and 16 1/2“ by 19 1/2“ frame.
