[CH51] A fine and scarce 19thC English saltglazed stoneware Art Pottery open salt cellar with silver plated rim, almost certainly by Bailey of Fulham, being of typical muted colours and decorative style, very similar to that of Doulton. No maker's mark to the base, which is just incised "6534 D". It stands 4.6cm tall and is in fine condition, their being the odd flaked bead around the body, two tiny firing cracks to the foot and only traces of plating remain on the rim. Please also see the matching mustard pot also being listed this evening: Apologies if images are dark or gainy - lighting conditions will have been poor.
