I have for sale another Eastlake Aesthetic Ebonized Victorian Gilt frame. This is a spectacular frame which I believe is from around 1870. It is called a "shadowbox" as it has three layers of wood (see pic.). The colors in the marbelized area are striking and the pictures do not do it justice. This frame measures 16" by 14" and is 3" deep. The picture area is 12" by 9.75". T is gilt around the picture area and then a marbelized tier with incised spoon carvings. T is then an ebonized band, walnut, another ebonized band and then walnut on top. The frame is in very good condition for well over 100 years old. T are the usual marks and oxidation that you see in old gilt and ebonized areas and some small scratches on the marbelized area but due to the mottled look it blends in nicely. The glass is old with the marks of old glass and no cracks or hairlines. The back is what I believe is the original wood (see pic.) The picture of the lovely girl in white dress with blue sash is a copy but an old copy. The matte is not original but it blends in well with the frame and print. If you have questions, comments or would like additional pictures please contact me. I will be listing more Eastlake frames in the next week or so and I am always happy to combine shipping when possible. Thank you for your interest. I had an inquiry about shipping on read more
