A superb 19thc gothic oak corbel with the carved head of a gargoyle - originates from a church/chapel. The attention to carved detail is excellent with all carving in high relief. Fine carved detail to gargoyle with leaf decoration carved to each side. Dimensions some 13" height x 6.5" max width. Max depth some 7". A superb 19thc solid oak corbel with carved head of a gargoyle. Excellent and age commensurate condition. There are age cracks to side and down back of corbel - this is age consistent and of no consequence. A quality solid oak gothic carved corbel which is very heavy and a very dramatic piece.
