Fine Peaseware spice container. 3.25"tall. Maximum width approx. 2.37". Finely turned by the Pease Family of the Cascade Valley in Ohio in the fourth quarter of the 19thc. This spice container is fashioned of maple. The container is modeled in the urn or pedestal style, one of the signature styles of the Pease shop. The container is in as near pristine condition as possible. The surface is a nice, dry, mellow golden color, gently oxidized with a soft darkening patina. The surface is untouched and unmolested in any way. The form is perfectly proportioned, and the turnings sharp and crisp in typical Pease fashion. There are no repairs or replacements. This beautiful Pease classic has been in my collection for over 25 years.
