This is a superb and a rare 19th c Staffordshire figurine of the Virgin Mary crushing the serpent underfoot. Dates c.early part of 19th c I am advised. A beautiful and rare model - the attention to detail is excellent. The folds of the Virgin's gown are beautifully done and the Virgin's face is extremely lovely. Superb pose with arms outstretched. The condition of this figurine is excellent and age commensurate. Measures some 10.5" height and some 3.5" across at base. A superb 19th century staffordshire figurine of the Virgin crushing the serpent underfoot which is very collectable. A fine addition to any Staffordshire collection.
