I am reluctantly having to sell some of my best-loved fine antiques - This will be very sad for me to see them go as they have been a special part of my life, but i need to down size my collection. Please be sure to add me to your favourites list so you don't miss out! ****************************************** For this sale, I am listing a stunning Victorian Coromandel Domed Brass bound Tea Caddy circa 1870lovely well grained Coromandel ,( Macassar Ebony, African Ebony ) this is very attractive and strikingly marked grain wood with stunning quality detailed brass mounts. Made in the mid/late 19th Century . and in lovely condition Lovely grain and patina and Fantastic colour to the wood,which only comes with age.please look at close up photos.super dome design to this wood.and in lovely condition for a caddy of this age. with just very light wear/marks and minor age lines that you should find on a caddy of this age .overall outside the caddy is in lovely untouched condition. (Please see photos).with stunning quality brass gothic style detailed mounts to lid and front of caddy,held in place with brass stud fittings, one of the lovely designed brass mounts is the key plate lovely quality brass lock with its working key. stunning brass hinges present inside and in super order,with all the screws in place, lid closes well and in line to main body good original blue satin lining inside of lid. a great colourwith its two lovely original sarcophagus shaped inner lids are super with nearly all the original lead lining on them also with lovely grain and original colour to these wood lids ,with great detailed turned brass lid knobs. the centre tea divider is fitted well ,it has all 4 corner wood pieces in both sections to hold lids in place.with nearly all of the original lovely lead lining remains inside. base underneath is in very good order, with felt this caddy would grace any collection lovely colour with a super grain and patina fantastic quality detailed brass mounts lovely condition inside un touched a super example MEASURES APPROXIMATE- Length - 9.4 ins (23.5cm) Depth - 5ins (13cm) height - 6.5.ins (16.5cm) any Q's please email.. please study photos A LOVELY ITEM WITH NO RESERVE.
