Up for auction is 1 POUND of Oregon Sunstone Rough. These stones were self collected during our visit at the Spectrum Mine during the summer of 2013. They consist of unsorted stones in the 1 to 15 carat range. There are few stones above 15 carats that make it in and there are Schillers and the occasional colored stone that is in the batch. These stones are mostly surface finds from around the mine and will cut beautiful stones. This mine is known for their Schillers and lots of the surface material here has the copper inclusions in them once cut/polished/tumbled. The mines in the area sell this material themselves for $50 a lb so this price is right on par with what they will sell it to you for. Each of these stones were collected on our knees by hand. We picked up so many stones there was no way to sort each and every one. There are lots of cuttable gems in these lots! This is the closest you'll get to surface hunting yourself if you can't make it out there (which we highly recommend that you do if you can, it's AMAZING) Shipping is a flat rate box, and FREE. We have a few lots of these stones available. If you have been out to Plush you know how hard it is to collect a pound of facetable sunstones. We are listing the larger and colored stones we found separately check our other auctions.
