This is an extremely rare set of Limoges porcelain dresser bottles and jars from the famous French Limoges studio, Camille Le Tallec. This set dates from the early 1930's and is in impeccable condition. The set comes from a very prominent Philadelphia Main Line estate. Included in this set are: 1 smaller apothecary bottle measuring about 5 and 7/8" tall and about 2 and 5/8" square, 1 covered powder jar which measures about 4.25" tall and about 3 and 7/8" square. There are no cracks or repairs to any of the bottles or the jar and there is about 5 percent gold loss at the most to any of the pieces. Some of the inside edges exhibit a little roughness, very typical of early Limoges where the bisque was not glazed. Each piece is hand signed "Made in France Le Tallec Paris" and all were hand painted at the famous Le Tallec studio. The studio was purchased by Tiffany & Co. in the 1960's and produced the very expensive Tiffany Private Stock lines of Limoges porcelain for the company. We know these are from the 1930's because they are not initalled by the artist who hand painted the design on each. From the early 1940's on, each artist would add his/her initials to the bottom of the piece. These pieces by Le Tallec are rare and becoming much, much harder to find. Note: The shorter bottle and the powder jar have a deeper lavender color
